The Massachusetts Native Peoples Working Group will meet again on Nov. 18 to continue strategizing around protecting and recognizing the rights of Native peoples in Massachusetts.
 

Two advocacy efforts were considered at the October 14 meeting:

·Organizing an educational event on the use of Native mascots, and

·Developing a state legislative strategy to address the human rights of native peoples in Massachusetts.
 

These efforts will be the focus of this meeting, along with a goal of gaining consensus among native community members on the path forward. Native and non-natives are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
