Get Involved
There are many ways you can support Indigenous Peoples.
DONATE NOW TO SUPPORT INDIGENOUS ENVIRONMENTAL AND HUMAN RIGHTS DEFENDERS.
Help Cultural Survival as we provide support and resources to grassroots, Indigenous movements across the globe. Our mission is to support Indigenous Peoples’ self-determination and the advocacy of their human and Indigenous rights – the right to their lands and territories, the right to practice their cultures and speak their languages, and the right to control and sustainably manage their natural resources – so that they may determine their futures.

MAKE YOUR DOLLARS STRETCH.
Find out if your employer offers a matching gift program and make Cultural Survival the beneficiary. To learn more contact giving[at]cs.org.
DONATE STOCK AND OTHER SECURITIES.
Do you have stocks, bonds, or mutual funds that have appreciated, and want an end-of year tax deduction? Gift them to Cultural Survival and save on capital gains. Giving stock held more than 12 months offers a two-fold tax savings. First, you avoid paying capital-gains tax on the increase in value of your stock. In addition, you receive a tax deduction for the full fair market value of the stock on the date of the gift. Subtracting the tax savings from what you originally paid for the stock can result in a gift that costs just pennies on the dollar. This is an excellent vehicle for stock that has appreciated substantially in value. Please donate stock to Fidelity Account Z70-897205 in the name of Cultural Survival. Fidelity's DTC number is 0226. IN-KIND DONATIONS.
We depend on donations of office equipment, furniture, current computer equipment, good quality still and video cameras, recording equipment, and other items to keep our effort running. If you can offer any of these items (or others), please contact us at culturalsurvival[at]cs.org.
MAKE US YOUR CAUSE. FUNDRAISE.
Fundraisers can be a lot of fun to coordinate or host. Harness the collective giving power of your friends, family, and co-workers, and simultaneously spreading awareness of Cultural Survival and the important work we’re doing worldwide. Whatever you’re doing—hosting an event, running a marathon, organizing a bake sale, or celebrating a birthday—you have the capacity to be an incredible fundraiser. Contact giving[at]cs.org for more ideas.
CONTRIBUTE.
Are you a strong writer and from an Indigenous community or do you have experience working alongside Indigenous communities as they work towards full respect and implementation of their Indigenous and Human rights? We are always on the lookout for stories from the frontlines of the Indigenous world to highlight in our award winning quarterly publication. Please visit URL for more information.
PLEDGE SUPPORT AND BOYCOTT.
Many companies and banks hold stock in companies guilty of abuse against Indigenous Peoples. Learn who is honoring Indigenous rights and who isn’t and support divestment strategies while calling for ethical business. Signing petitions is another way to let the heads of the organizations and elected representatives know that we as citizens are taking a stand.
INTERN.
Cultural Survival's internship program is an integral component to the organization. Donate your time and expertise as an intern or a volunteer for an event. You will learn about current Indigenous issues while helping achieve our goals. Learn More
SHARE. SPREAD THE WORD.
Indigenous Peoples and their issues are all but invisible to many people, and that allows governments and corporations to abuse their rights. One of the best things you can do to help Indigenous Peoples is to tell others about them. Tell three friends about Cultural Survival, and invite them to become members.
BE SOCIAL. STAY CONNECTED.
You can help increase Cultural Survival’s visibility by using social networking. Like us on Facebook, follow us on twitter (@CSORG), Instagram (@culturalsurvival) and LinkedIn, share our campaigns, articles, and news with your friends.
COME TO OR VOLUNTEER AT A CULTURAL SURVIVAL BAZAAR.
Cultural Survival Bazaars are festivals where Indigenous artists, their representatives, and fair trade companies sell their work directly to the public. Learn more about them by visiting our Bazaar page, here.
HOMESTAY PROGRAM
During the Cultural Survival bazaars Indigenous artists from all over the world come to the Massachusetts/Rhode Island area to vend and share their crafts reflecting culture and traditions. Cultural Survival offers a homestay program for artisans who do not reside in the area, know anyone nearby, or can afford lodging on their own. Previous homestay hosts have said that opening their doors and volunteering their time has proven to be a beneficial and an enriching experience for their summers/winters.
