WORLD: Technology course opens for indigenous leaders

The International Telecommunications Union of the United Nations and the Indigenous Community Development Fund of Latin America and the Caribbean, joined under the auspice the World Bank Indigenous Fund, will provide distant learning for indigenous leaders. This collection of trainings, conducted in Spanish, focus on international policy, decision making at a community level, and information technology.

In August and September, over 50 indigenous leaders participated in first two segments: Indigenous Peoples Rights through the Use and Access of Information Technology and The Identity Development of Indigenous Peoples through the Use and Access of Information Technology. The third segment, Identity Development of Indigenous People: Administration Models and Tendencies through the Use and Access of Information Technology will occur from November 17 thru December 2.
