WORLD: Human Rights Fellowship at Central European University

The Central European University (CEU) fellowship program for human rights, launched in 2001, is currently accepting applications for 2006-2008. Applicants must be nominated by a non-governmental organization (NGO) from their host country. Recipients will spend the first year at Hungary CEU's Legal Studies Department, pursuing either an MA or LL.M degree in Human Rights, as well as working for three months in a European NGO. In the second year, fellows will work with their nominating NGO. Fellowship recipients will be awarded a full scholarship for their time at CEU, and paid a local salary for their work with the host NGO. All Central and Eastern European, former Soviet Union, African, Southeast Asian, Middle Eastern, and Central/South American students are eligible to apply. Fellowships will be awarded based on the applicant's experience, potential, and fit with the nominating NGO. All applicants must have a university degree and proficiency in English.
