In Malaysia, the International Indigenous Forum on Biodiversity has stated that there must be greater respect and protection for indigenous people’s rights regarding the knowledge of biological and genetic resources. The forum presented these views at the Seventh Conference of Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP7), held February 9-20.
