A Penobscot woman has devoted the last 10 years to preserving a style of basket making that would have otherwise died out among the American Indians of Maine. Her organization, the Maine Indian Basket Makers’ Alliance, is now receiving national attention for its work and is currently exhibited at the National Museum of the American Indian in NYC.
