More than $40 million worth of illegal Mahogany is remaining undistributed at 15 U.S. ports, after the federal government reversed a decision to allow the release of the timber to several furniture companies. Pressure from the environmental organization Greenpeace and Brazil’s environment minister was essential to the U.S. decision.
