Negotiations between the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service continue one month after a draft resolution deadline has come and gone. The tribes want to manage Montana’s National Bison Range, which is located entirely within the Flathead Reservation. As negotiations drag on, environmental and conservative opposition to tribal management continue to grow.
