UNITED STATES: CANADA: Natives from both countries defend one another’s interest

As BP, Phillips and Exxon Mobil finish their own feasibility studies, thirty-five tribes from the Yukon, Northwest Territories, British Columbia and Alaska have signed a pact aimed at collectively defending their interests in the event of a natural gas pipeline gas being built in the area. The meeting was held at the First Nation Oil and Gas Summit in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory.
