After previous success barring two US-based groups from participation in the upcoming UN summit on development and the environment in South Africa, China requested that the Indian-based Tibetan Center for Human Rights and Democracy be denied accreditation as well. China’s UN ambassador, Wang Yingfan denounced the group as a separatist organization that was “irrelevant to the cause of sustainable development.”
