From the approximately 300 families of herdsmen comprising the Bahima, the Iteso, and the Sabiny, that had settled on the Teso wetlands, a number of them have resettled elsewhere. The resettlement came in response to the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) that gave them a six month ultimatum which had originally expired on May 30th. The remaining families are those who have nowhere else to go.
