A plan by an Australia-based biotechnology company Autogen to establish a database of genetic information on the Tongan people has received strong opposition from church and local human rights groups. Consequently, the proposal has been stalled. The human rights groups demand answers from the Melbourne-based company Autogen whether it has abandoned the project or not.
