Peruvian Uros peoples are protesting the devastating effects of industrial pollution, tourism, and commercial farming on Lake Titicaca. The islands inside the lake were inhabited by Uros dwellers hundreds of years ago in an attempt to seek protection from Colla and the Inca tribes. Lake Titicaca lies between the border of Peru and Bolivia, and is one of the world’s highest navigable lakes.
