In a recent trip to Thailand, Peruvian First Lady Eliane Toledo took time to visit the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine to study how Thai law protects and promotes traditional medicine. Toledo expressed a desire to develop a similar program in Peru to protect traditional indigenous medicine from bio-piracy.
