The rise in jobs in Nunavik (northern Quebec) over the last ten years has unfortunately not led to a corresponding rise in Nunavimmiut taking the most skilled, highest-paying jobs. Instead, generally low levels of education have prevented residents from taking full advantage of economic opportunities.
