NIGERIA: Ogoni report illustrates fraudulent by-election

A report was released last Thursday by the human rights group MOSOP --Movement for the Survival of Ogoni People -- on recent election abuses in Ogoniland. The report details the government’s restriction of political parties, the recent sacking of 92 percent of Nigeria’s state electoral commissioners, and the continued use of violence, ballot-box stuffing and intimidation to manipulate election results.
