The Idoma National Forum (INF) representing the Idoma people, sent a petition to the senate, objecting the nomination of a minister of Tiv origin, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu. The nomination represents Ayu’s third appointment and fails to support an ethnically representative senate. The Idoma people also expressed dissatisfaction with the structure of the Senatorial districts that give the Tivs two districts with fourteen local government areas and the Idomas only one district with nine local government areas.
