In response to the seemingly chronic conflicts between nomadic Fulani herdsmen and farmers in Plateau State and Jos during the past year, some are calling for more government involvement in the region, and for the settlement of the nomadic Fulani. A recent Daily Trust editorial states that the Fulani must be “brought into modernity”, and grazing reserves for their use must be set aside to avert future clashes with the settled farmers of the region.
