On July 7, 2003, Assyrians all over the world mourned the death of His Beatitude Raphael Bedawid, the Patriarch of the Chaldean Church who was known to be ecumenical and a unifier. He passed away in Beirut, Lebanon, subsequent to a long, debilitating disease.
