The Nahuatl Indians in Milpa Alta on the outskirts of Mexico City are mobilizing in a search for autonomy from the Mexican state. Twelve indigenous communities are demanding that the government recognize their autonomy and right to elect their own representatives and to use their land and resources according to custom.
