Hundreds of indigenous representatives from seven Mexican states gathered on October 10, 11 and 12 to criticize the government and the “Dia de la Raza,” the Latin American version of Columbus Day. Delegates expressed their disillusionment with the Fox administration for putting international free-trade agreements ahead of the needs of subsistence farmers.
