MEXICO: EZLN warns of increased paramilitary activity and violence

The Zapatista National Liberation Army (EZLN) indicated on July 22 that paramilitary activity has increased in the state of Chiapas, thereby increasing the risk of new aggression that could mirror what ended in the massacre of 45 indigenous people in 1996. The communication, signed by EZLN leader Sub-Commander Marcos, also denounced the Fox government for not fulfilling the negotiations and peace accords that were promised in 2000.
