Delegates from the Chaldean Catholic Church met with representatives of the Assyrian Democratic Movement Political Bureau in Baghdad on June 2, 2003. The two sides addressed the situation of the ChaldoAssyrian people in post-war Iraq and the steps necessary to enhance their national unity. The two sides agreed that they must emphasize the unity of the ChaldoAssyrian people and organizations to assure that they attain complete national unity. They also agreed that they would make every effort to organize a comprehensive national conference, with representatives from all of the ChaldoAssyrian organizations in Iraq and abroad, which will strive to accomplish what they feel are their just national rights. In the conference, they will also address their role in post-war Iraq.
