The Indonesian government has begun to implement its plan to restrict foreign access the war torn province of Aceh. Access to the region will be denied to journalists, tourists and non-profit organizations (including aid agencies). The Indonesian government claims its policy is aimed at preventing foreign deaths, with the ban coming on the heals of the deaths of two German tourists. The restriction, however, also coincides with the emergence of information that the Indonesian military has been training militias to help fight rebels. Many diplomats and agencies fear that the ban will lead to a brutal situation, similar to East Timor, and that the news will lose its objectivity. There is also the potential of the government
