The International Film Festival of India (IFFI), scheduled for later this month in Goa, India, will include a first-time entry of a full-length feature film in Kokborok, an indigenous language spoken in the eastern Indian state of Tripura. The film, titled Mathia (The Bangle), will be featured in the largest of the IFFI venues. Mathia, made by Salesian Father Joseph Pulinthanath, examines the custom of witch-hunting and features indigenous actors in leading roles.
