While international support for Honduras’ indigenous population has increased over recent years, policies addressing and supporting indigenous issues are still inadequate. Integrating Honduras’ nine indigenous groups (12.8 % of the population) into the economic and social fabric of the country would not only help the growth of the economy, but also reduce the dependency and poverty levels of indigenous peoples.
