On September 2, indigenous Nobel Peace Prize winner, Rigoberta Menchu, denounced the ex-director of the National Civil Police (PNC), Raul Manchame, for participating in disturbances that occurred on July 24 and 25. According to Menchu, Manchame’s actions directly led to the death of journalist Hector Ramirez at the hands of a mob.
