A new custody hearing has been granted to a Maya war refugee whose children were taken from her after she was deported from the U.S. on immigration charges. According to her lawyer, the woman, who speaks only her Maya dialect and limited Spanish, was not provided a lawyer in jail and did not know she could contest her deportation to seek reunification with her children.
