The Secretary General of Amnesty International has urged presidential candidates in Guatemala’s November 9 elections to put human rights at the core of their political agendas. Issues include strengthening the judicial system and ending impunity, combating violence and discrimination against women, and improving the conditions of the rural and indigenous sectors of the country.
