Amazon Watch has arranged for representatives from institutions that own millions of dollars in ChevronTexaco stock to visit areas in the Amazon rainforest affected by oil operations. As part of their fact-finding visit, the investors will meet with indigenous people affected by the operations. The ongoing legal case investigating the negative effects ChevronTexaco oil production has had on the environment and people of the Amazon region should conclude later this year.
