Cultural Survival Meets with James Cameron

Cultural Survival board of directors vice-chair Richard Grounds, director of the Euchee Language Project based in Sapulpa, OK, last month traveled to Los Angeles with executive director Ellen Lutz and a coalition of Indigenous rights organizations to meet with Avatar director James Cameron about the real-life Pandoras facing the world’s 370 million Indigenous Peoples. Grounds educated Cameron about the Euchee community’s work to revitalize its critically endangered language, spoken fluently by only a hanful of elderly speakers.  Read more about the Euchee Language Project here.
