CHINA: Indigenous People of China Responsible for Inland Desertification

The Indigenous People of China and Inner Mongolia are allegedly responsible for desertification in the western region of China. The Chinese government is conducting a project to stop advanced desertification by converting farmland into forests and grassland throughout the inland area. The project entails the migration of indigenous nomads and farmers from the areas highly affected by desertification to urban and suburban areas. See Spotlight Article
