The Chinese Government officially denounced Slovenia this Sunday for allowing the Dalai Lama to visit this past week. Chinese officials say that the Dalai Lama, who met with all of Slovenia’s top state officials, is a separatist and that his actions threaten the sovereignty of China and offend its people. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao was quoted by the official Xinhua News Agency as saying that Slovenia’s decision to host the Tibetan leader “harms Sino-Slovenian relations”.
