The Mon National Council (MNC) has accused the State Peace and Development Council Army (SPDC) of taking away the lands of local Mon people in the Mon State. The SPDC has seized more than 300 acres without providing any compensation to residents. The Army intends to expand and build army bases as well as develop nuclear plants with the help of Russia. MNC is demanding that the SPDC stop its activities.
