Over 100 Buddhist monks from five townships in Rangoon have been arrested and forced to disrobe after violating a curfew imposed on them by the State Peace and Development Council after the Buddhist-Muslim religious riots in November 2003. Soldiers from the 77th Light Infantry Division of Pegu transported the offenders to the Rangoon Military Command for investigation, and some are in detention in the notorious Insein Prison.
