BRAZIL: State orders public hospitals to abide by indigenous birth practices

Government officials in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo have ordered public hospitals to abide by tribal birthing customs of Guarani indigenous women. The resolution was passed in hopes of developing indigenous people’s trust for western health practices.
