BRAZIL: Guarani-Kaiowá struggle for land rights

39 Guarani-Kaiowá leaders demand that Funai (National Indian Foundation), the Public Prosecutor’s office, and the Ministry of Justice take measures to demarcate land in Mato Grosso do Sul to protect the rights of the Guarani-Kaiowá. The Guarani-Kaiowá are experiencing violence, prejudice, and assassinations from landholders and politicians opposing indigenous peoples’ presence in the state.
