Warren Mundine, a leading New South Wales Aboriginal political figure, announced his plans to run for the Australian Labor Party’s (ALP) national presidency. Mundine, receiving most of his support from the right-wing of the Labor Party, is focusing on a fresh, grassroots approach to the presidency. The direct election for the position will be held later this year.
