Maori landowners are asking for well defined, fenced public access roads through their land to the South Wairarapa coast. The current public roads do not prevent travelers from camping and squatting, causing some landowners to lock their road gates. The fencing would simultaneously allow access to the Coast and prevent damage to Maori land.
