SUDAN: Government accused of violating ceasefire, forcing Dinka and Nuer into army

Monitoring agencies have accused the Sudanese government of violating a ceasefire it signed last fall with the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement/Army. The think tank International Crisis Group has stated that government forces attacked oilfields in Western Upper Nile, and the Civilian Protection Monitoring Team has reported that the government has increased forced conscription of Dinka and Nuer boys and men in the region. Thousands have been displaced by the recent actions.
