KENYA: Pokot delegation appears before Land Commission

Representatives of the pastoral Pokot community presented their land claims issues before the Constitution Review Commission and Njonjo Land Commission in Nairobi this week. Appearing in full traditional dress, the representatives recounted the history of the appropriation of their homelands by colonial and post-colonial administrations and settlers, and asked that the current commission grant them rights to the remaining 43,900 acres of their traditional lands.
