As the European Union opens its borders to member states, governments are concerned about the possibility of increased Roma immigrations from Eastern Europe in search of improved economic opportunities. Ethnic profiling and other forms of discrimination against Roma have increased in such countries as Britain , where they are screened out at airport terminals.
