The Ethiopian Human Rights Council criticized police this week for the mass arrest of 349 Oromo students at the University of Addis Ababa last month. They also accused police of physical and psychological abuse of the ethnic group. Oromo students reportedly suffer frequent persecution by university and police officials when proclaiming their identity and promoting their rights.
