The pastoralist Afar people of Ethiopia are still struggling with the effects of a devastating drought, the United Nations team in the region reports, but the food situation is improving. Tens of thousands of livestock, key to the Afar economy, died in the drought. The UN warns that the situation could deteriorate again if March and April rains don’t come through.
