The National Council of Veterans Associations of Canada announced that it has brought a claim to the Canadian courts over the Métis veterans who were allegedly denied rehabilitation benefits received by all other Canadians who served in World War II and the Korean War. The announcement came on November 10, just before Veterans Day. In addition to violating Canadian law, the Council argues that Canada violated several provisions of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
