As part of a compensation package for flood damage caused by a hydroelectric dam, 35,000 hectares of land was granted to the Chemawawin Cree Nation community on Cedar Lake last week when the Comprehensive Forebay Agreement was signed. Cree band members will meet this coming week with Manitoba Hydro to finalize the deal that includes $10 million for lake damage.
