MEXICO: Sub-Commander Marcos denounces the Plan Puebla Panama

Sub-Commander Marcos, leader of the Zapatista National Liberation Army (EZLN), announced his contempt for the Plan Puebla Panama on July 26. The Plan is an effort to economically integrate Mexico and Central America by linking roads, electricity grids, and tariff systems. Marcos’ objections to the plan include the growing prominence of corruptive foreign economic interests that are working to turn “southeast Mexico in to a game park for world interests.”
