AUSTRALIA: Aboriginal remains return home

A recent ceremony in Canberra, Australia, celebrated the return of 300 bodies of Aboriginal ancestors from universities and museums in Edinburgh, London and Sydney. Elders of the Ngarrindjeri people were on hand to greet the repatriated remains, prior to their return to Aboriginal hands southeast of Adelaide. Aboriginal leaders estimate that at least 5,000 sets of remains are still in Britain, and that 20,000 overall were taken for scientific study from Australia.
