Urgent Action: 24 hours to convince US Senate to block Keystone XL pipeline

Tomorrow’s vote in the Senate could reverse Obama’s decision and greenlight construction of the Keystone XL pipeline.  During the next 24 hours, Native Americans, environmentalists, and concerned citizens are joining together to send an urgent petition to senators to block efforts to revive the pipeline.  Click here to sign the petition "Senators: Block any efforts to revive the dangerous Keystone XL tar sands pipeline."

Native communities across the US and Canada have joined together over recent months in opposition to the Keystone pipeline.  Together, they drafted the Mother Earth Accord, a statement by Native and First Nations groups who would be affected by the pipeline.  The document was presented to President Obama in 2011, who finally acted to reject the pipeline in late January.

However, tomorrow the Senate, under pressure from big oil companies, will have the opportunity to reverse Obama’s decision and approve construction.  Please visit the to send a petition to your senator and help us reach the goal of 500,000 over the next 24 hours.

 Thank you!
