UNITED STATES: Video Conference on United Nations Permanent Forum of Indigenous Peoples

Video coverage and audio interviews from the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, which convened for the first time on May 13, have been made available on the Development Gateway's website. In addition, discussions from a video conference connecting participants of the Permanent Forum with indigenous peoples across the globe are nowavailable on the Office of the High Commissioner on Human Rights web page. The conference took place halfway through the Forum's sessions, on May 20, and was organized by the University of Uraccan, the Indigenous Initiative for Peace, and the World Bank. It offered indigenous peoples who could not attend the Permanent Forum an opportunity to shape the agenda and working plan of the participants.
